Expansion battery for BK215 PLUS – 2.15 kWh

The SunEnergyXT B215 PLUS adds 2.15 kWh of storage capacity to a BK215 PLUS system. It is not a stand-alone head unit. A compatible head unit is required. The system specifications below refer to operation with BK215 PLUS. Net weight is approximately 24.5 kg.

The manufacturer also supports B215 PLUS with a first-generation BK215 head unit. This combination remains limited to three expansion batteries and 8.6 kWh in total.

More independence from the grid

When connected to the BK215 PLUS, the B215 PLUS charges and discharges together with the head unit. The additional capacity is available for storing solar energy for later use. Connections and placement must follow the user manual.

Compatibility and PV input

The B215 PLUS has one dedicated PV input with up to 800 W of input power. A compatible microinverter connects to the BK215 PLUS head unit, not to the expansion battery. Permitted solar-panel wiring depends on the electrical limits and installation instructions in the user manual.

• Rated DC output at the BK215 PLUS head unit: 2,000 W when operating with one battery.
• Rated DC output at the BK215 PLUS head unit: 2,400 W when operating with at least two batteries.

Modular system expansion up to 17.2 kWh

One BK215 PLUS head unit can be combined with up to seven B215 PLUS expansion batteries, providing up to 17.2 kWh of system storage capacity. The modules must be connected and positioned according to the installation instructions.

Smart zero-export control

Power control is handled by the BK215 PLUS head unit within the configured system. A compatible energy meter and suitable firmware are required. Support for the following meters depends on the specific system configuration:

• Shelly 3EM / Shelly 3EM Pro
• Bitshake IR reader (Tasmota)
• EcoTracker

AC charging and optional system functions

The combined BK215 PLUS head unit and B215 PLUS expansion battery system can be extended with the optional SunEnergyXT EV3600 module. The following AC-charging and additional functions relate to this system configuration, not to the B215 PLUS on its own:

• AC-coupled storage of surplus PV energy
• Use of dynamic electricity tariffs
• Local backup power
• Integration with wallbox and energy-management systems

System monitoring via the App

The system is managed through the BK215 PLUS head unit in the SunEnergyXT App. The B215 PLUS operates as a connected expansion battery within the system; it is not configured as a stand-alone head unit.

Indoor and outdoor use

The B215 PLUS has an IP65 protection rating. For outdoor operation, placement, connections and protective covers must meet the requirements in the user manual.
